Primo Contavalli was the son and pupil of Liugi Contavalli. Primo primarily used the Stradivarius model and improved on his father's instruments both tonally and in the quality of the varnish. He lived into his 90's so he was very productive. He was a winner of a number of medals and prizes over his very long life. This violin is certified by Jacques Francais with pictures. It was made around the year 1920. The violin is in excellent condition and has a well balanced and warm tone.
