The Hellmer is a Bohemian violin which is about 200 years old. This violin is a dead ringer for an old Italian. It looks like one and it sounds like one. This violin has fooled many people over the years who thought it was Italian. A similar violin sold for about $25,000.00 in the 1980's. The tone is very warm and rich with excellent carrying power. Considering its age its condition is excellent. Back to Violins Page |
