Violins: Vecchio Tedesco

This choice old German violin virtually sings when the bow is drawn on it. Many players prefer older violins because the wood hardens with age. The result is a violin which is more clear and resonant. To this date, nobody has perfected a way to age wood artificially to reproduce the quality of natural aging.  One of the problems with inexpensive older violins is that they tend to have many repairs which may or may not have been done well. The Vecchio Tedesco violin has many years of age on it but is in excellent condition. The wood is high-quality spruce and maple, as found in the best older violins, and varnished to perfection. Outfit includes Albert Bausch silver-mounted pernambuco bow and suspension oblong case with four bow holders and hygrometer. Available in all sizes.

Listen to these Vechio Tedesco student violins! The composition is Bach Gavotte in G minor, No. 3 in Suzuki Book 3, performed by Peter Zaret. (Click on the links* to listen.)
