Adolphe Dechez Violin 1909

A great representation of this lesser known french maker with beautiful workmanship and obvious french style.

Adolphe Dechez (d.1925) is a lesser-known French maker from Mirecourt. He was both grandson and pupil to the famous Maurice Mermillot. Dechez's grandfather studied under Charles Gaillard, J.B. Vuillaume, and Frencesco Guadagnini, eventually establishing his own workshop in Paris. Dechez adopted his grandfather's style and continued crafting beautiful instruments with an obvious French style.

This lovely violin showcases fine patterning in the spruce and flamed maple with a rich golden varnish, highlighting the natural grain. It is beautifully crafted and exhibits a rich, warm tone that will complement any serious player's practice or grace any collection.
