Frank Marincek (b.1923, d.2008) lived and worked in Ohio and at age 18 he was called to serve his country. He spent a little over four years in the military after which Marincek attended Baldwin Wallace College where he studied violin performance at their Conservatory of Music. He planned to pursue a career in music. Marincek instead was a builder, developer, and also devoted much time to becoming a master violin maker. Mark Ward was his apprentice for a time, and some believe that Marincek’s pieces made their way to the Cleveland Orchestra’s stage.
This violin was crafted in 1981 and is a fine example of Marincek’s work. It is a reliable, hearty performer and boasts a rich tone that will enrich the playing of any serious musician.
