F. Patzelt Violin, 1899, 3/4 size

Ferdinand Patzelt (b.1854) was born in Vienna, Austria. He opened a workshop with his brother, in Berlin, sometime around 1876. Patzelt was one of the first German violin makers to use balsam pine wood, found in the Harz Mountain district.

This violin is labeled “Dresden, 1899” and is in wonderful condition. Tonewoods are highlighted by a golden brown varnish, and the violin's construction and excellent tonal quality make it ideal for a professional musician.
