Cardinet Violin 1830

D. Cardinet was active in the Mirecourt, France violin-making scene during the early to mid 1800s. Mirecourt schools produced instruments that are among the most sought after models for their incorporation of Italian style and German designed elements.

Cardinet's violin displays his characteristic medium curl maple, fine to medium grain spruce, and sumptuous, orange-red varnish on a one-piece back. Cardinet's violin is resonant with a mature voice and balanced power. It is the perfect complement to a professional violinist's repertoire or the ideal addition to a collector's ensemble.
